The Eddie Gripper Trio

23 year old pianist, Eddie Gripper, brings his band to Fishguard as part of the launch of his debut album "Home".

 

 

Eddie Gripper is an English pianist, composer and educator based in Cardiff, Wales. Born and raised in Oxford, he first moved to Cardiff in 2018 to study under the tutelage of Huw Warren before graduating with First Class Honours from Cardiff University. He has worked as a performer, promoter and producer alongside top musicians in his field. Including: Huw Warren, Iain Ballamy, Laura Jurd, Alex Merritt, Yuri Golubev, Eric Ford and Kevin Glasgow. As a composer, he has collaborated with welsh folk artist, Angharad Jenkins (Calan), exploring the various aspects of folk, jazz and contemporary classical traditions. ‘Hiraeth’, a band featuring Isaac Zuckerman, Daniel Newberry and Ursula Harrison, featured many of his own compositions alongside the work of other band mates, they featured as finalists in the 2022 edition of the International Bucharest Jazz Competition.

The Transatlantic Hot Club was formed by Ben Creighton Griffiths (Harp) and Adrien Chevalier (Violin) in 2013 when they met whilst both performing at ‘Journées de la Harpe’ - a harp festival on the French Caribbean islands of Martinique, Guyane, Guadeloupe, St Anne, and St Lucia. The following year they began an annual tradition of performing in Cardiff and have been expanding this into a full tour ever since. In 2019 they adopted the Transatlantic Hot Club name.

Pre-Festival Party Nights

 

The weekend before the festival, on 16th and 17th we have two warm-up party nights in Ffwrn that will get you hopping.

On Friday 16th of August we have a night to remember with 9-piece soul funk and Motown band The Connections. Two and half hours of live music from 8pm to midnight. This one will get you dancing.

This is first time this top class Pembrokeshire based band has visited FIshguard, and we can guarantee you will not be disappointed - bring your dancing shoes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

On Saturday 17th August the Red Stripe Band are coming back to Fishguard.

If you have seen them before then you know what to expect , if you haven't you are in for a real treat. This is a 7-piece high energy jump jive rock and roll band who have been stomping their way around the world for 20 years from Monte Carlo to Tokyo and New York to Milan and ..... Fishguard!
